I made a quick stopover this weekend in New Hampshire to spend time with family. We took Lucy, Henry and my mother’s dog, Honey to the beach on a cold and blustery spring day.
The sky and the ocean were cold and gray, but I love walking on the beach during the low seasons. In a couple months’ time, these spaces will be filled with umbrellas and towels and sand castles and crowds — all lovely summery things, but falling short to the wonderful calm and silence of the ocean during the fall and early spring.
Henry had a great time too, chasing the ball down into the water.
