Phew! I made it through another week in Blighty* !
This weekend, I’ll be flat hunting, pub-going, and hopefully I’ll have some time for an amazing novel that I’m reading, State of Wonder by Ann Patchett, which is about a doctor’s adventures in the Amazon.
There is also an exhibition on at the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington called, “Postmodernism: Style and Subversion 1970 – 1990“. This show is part in a series of several shows on periods of design (former shows have included the Aesthetic Movement, Arts and Crafts…) some of which I have attended and are very good.
Gotta love a big city and its easy access to Culture!
Have a wonderful weekend.
*(NB — “Blighty” is a new vocabulary word of mine, and it is British slang for “Britain”. Interestingly enough, this word derives from the Hindustani word vilāyatī (विलायती) (see wikipedia).
