Snaps and the City

Everyone is always taking pictures here in London.  After all, there is quite a lot to take photos of!

Saint Paul's Cathedral, as seen from the embankment of the Millenium Bridge.

London is, of course, replete with tourists during all times of the year. Almost anywhere in the center of London you can find people taking pictures of monuments.

And churches.

Southwark Cathedral

And each other, posing unnaturally — making peace signs, shoulder to the camera to look thinner, wide grins plastered on faces.

Tourists take pictures of squirrels.

And telephone booths.

And bodies of water of all sorts.

Canals up in Islington.

Tourists take pictures of the very long escalators that rise up from the underground.  We also like taking photos of funny signs, and names of pubs.

One day, I suppose I’ll stop feeling like a tourist and start feeling like a Londoner…but not quite yet.
